Over 30% of the people in India live below national poverty line. India has now over 1.2 billion people. So this 30% makes a large amount of people struggling to meet their basic needs. According to the international standards, over 68% lives with $2/day. Malnutrition among children, inhumane living conditions, lack of clean drinking water, widespread of Malaria, and social stigma are some of the humanitarian concerns in India.
Humanitarian Work are one of the three ways Wisdom For Asia fulfills its vision of Transforming individuals and communities. We are actively involved in improving lives through meeting physical needs. Our humanitarian efforts are designed to do the most good based on our financial capabilities; we seek the maximum return for each dollar spent. We believe that God has called us to not only share His Wisdom, but to also demonstrate His love through acts of compassion and charity.
In Matthew 10:42, Jesus said, “And if anyone gives even a cup of cold water to one of these little ones who is my disciple, truly I tell you, that person will certainly not lose their reward.” Our Breakthrough Water Well Project is a huge blessings to thousands of people in various communities in India. Each water well provides clean and healthy water for minimum of 100 to over 2000 people for 15+ years. This project transforms a community and helps the women in each community very much.
James 1:27 says, “Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unstained from the world.”
